To get the life you want, pull your fingers out

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve talked to someone who says they are not happy with their job, their relationship or their life. I think we all have been there, I can’t go wrong by saying that, and that’s ok to feel like we don’t know who we are and where we belong. We all, one day, felt lost, frustrated and stuck in a situation where we shouldn’t be.

I don’t even remember how many times I heard someone saying they were not satisfied with their life and wishing they could be like me “brave’, “motivated” or a bit “crazy”. I am not. I’m not brave, I’m not crazy and I’m not even motivated. I don’t wake up at 5am every morning because I enjoy it, sometimes I wake up because I have to and I could do anything to skip it. But I don’t because who is going to do it for me anyway? No-one, no-one will take time to help me and train for me, work until late in the day or even reach my goals.

I do believe happiness and fulfilment are dependant upon your mindset. If you wake up every morning dreading what you have to do, carrying the bagage of anxiety and negative energy from the day before or dragging your feet, you won’t find reasons to make it. Instead, you will probably find reasons to express your misery, reflect it to the people around you and it won’t make things better. You won’t find joy or satisfaction because you won’t search for it, this is always easier to focus on what is wrong than what is going well. Am I wrong by saying that?

If you want to change your day-to-day, if you want to stop saying “I wish I could…”, if you want to live a life that wakes you up at 5am without snoozing your alarm, that excites and inspires you, then pull your fingers out because no-one will do it for you.

Nothing will change unless you want to change. Nothing will come to you unless you work for it. Nothing is easy and it’s not getting better, that’s a thing, but you will get rewarded. The truth is, if you want something bad enough, you will pursue it. This is the law of attraction, nothing complicated than truly believe that your best life is, and always will be, within reach. Nothing less, nothing more.

Good things come to those who work their asses off and never give up. – Daniel Ek
